Remember this is just one person's opinion.I have NEVER not loved a book by Kristen Proby. NEVER. But I didn't like this one. I didn't like the H/h, what little we knew of them. I didn't like them apart or together. I didn't like the supporting characters. The 'conflict' was silly, and the resolution sillier. Really, Dad? Your daughter's fiance ghosts her for a month, she tells you she's pregnant and hurt, and you say she's at fault? Really? I'm struggling to figure out what or who we were supposed to feel warm and fuzzy about. The animals? What happened to Angela and the babies? Even Proby's trademark girls' night fell very flat. The whole book felt rushed and superficial.
One positive for me: I really think I could like Levi. I'm hoping Levi and Starla's story is next in this series.
I will not abandon this author. She has given me so many smiles over the years. And only one dud out of a significant and growing pile of wonderfulness. So, this gets filed and I can't wait to get onto the next read from one of my favorites.

Love with Me (With Me in Seattle #11) by Kristen Proby
4 stars
M/F Romance
I reviewed my own copy of this book for Wicked Reads BYOB
I have read all of the books in this series and I have loved them all. This is a fantastic series and I highly recommend it.
Now, having said that, this particular book was slightly different than the previous books in the series. This is a friends to lovers romance with spin off characters.
Jace is a doctor who is in a position he's never been in before. He's twiddling his thumbs because he was unable to save a patient. With that being said, he's always had a best friend in Joy and when he's needed a date to an event, a friend to lean on or someone to just hang out with, Joy is who he calls. He has never had a serious relationship because he compares everyone else to her.
Joy is a vet who has her own practice. She absolutely loves her job. Having met Jace in undergrad, she has always held a torch for him, but didn't want to ruin their friendship. Joy was a little hard to relate to, because if you really love someone for that long, you'd think it would show in other ways.
While I did enjoy watching their slow buildup, it just didn't have quite the same feeling as the previous books and I missed that. It was a sweet friends to lovers book and I enjoyed it, but it just wasn't my favorite and I didn't devour it like I normally do with this series.
As the country's leading cardiac surgeon and recently appointed chief of surgery, Dr. Jace Crawford is at the top of his game. Okay, fine, he doesn't have time to date, but his good friend Joy Thompson is always there when he needs a plus one.
Friends since college, Jace and Joy have always been there for one another, but when Jace has trouble at work, he leans on Joy unlike ever before. It's then that he realizes that he's started seeing, and needing, Joy differently.
Their transition from friends to lovers was a long time in the making, but I feel like it was absolutely necessary for them to establish themselves in their own careers for them to finally realize what, or shall I say who, was missing in their lives. And what a sweet epiphany it was; since they were such good friends, they were so in sync with each other and were able to easily overcome obstacles that came up.
Also, I loved the Easter eggs that Kristen Proby drops throughout the book too! From references to Indulge With Me recipies, to characters we know and love from the series popping up throughout the book and even the hints to the next couple in the series we should expect to see in the spotlight. Love With Me was another great addition to an already fabulous series! ❤
Kristen Proby always writes stories with characters that I love. While they all have some similar characteristics- the men are hot and supportive, and the women are independent and strong,- they're also so varied. I found that to be the case in Love with Me, the 11th book in Kristen Proby's With Me in Seattle series.
Jace and Joy have been friends since they were freshman in college. Now as a cardiothorasic surgeon and a veteranarian, they've been each other's go-to when they have events to attend. But things begin to shift for them romantically, and they are seeing each other differently than before. They are hestitant initially to give things a try, as they're worried that if things don't work out, they may ruin a wonderful friendship. Their feelings are too strong, however, and they throw caution to the wind. And Jace and Joy are so much stronger together than they are apart!
I love the friends-to-lovers romance trope! I loved Jace and how much he could appreciate Joy's strength and smarts- and that he'd do anything for her! Joy was such a wonderful character who wanted to be herself, but loved Jace's support and love for his career.
Love With Me brought me back to Seattle, a place that I so want to visit because I have fallen in love with this huge family! I so loved this book, and highly recommend Love with Me!
