I really wanted to like this book, but I struggled to get half way through and I just couldn’t read anymore. The characters are immature and idiots and I just never connected with them. The fact that I could stop reading after their reunion and not care what happened to them is proof. I don’t understand why she just doesn’t tell him the baby is his, and before that why they just didn’t tell everyone they were in love. He’s supposedly a billionaire, why wouldn’t her parents be ok with her marrying him? If her parents didn’t approve, he could have taken care of her. It made no sense from a Western POV.I had a hard time getting over the word “orphanarium” as other reviewers have mentioned. I mean what is that? I had never heard that word before. I could over look a lot of the phrasing and sentence structure, but that word was bothersome.
The writing also seems a little immature and choppy. I am no English major, but it was difficult to read. I also had the same thought as some reviewers that the author’s first language is not English and that perhaps this book was translated. A search of the author brought up very little information.
This is the second book by this author that I didn’t finish and honestly, when I bought the book I didn’t realize it was by her or I would not have bought it. The description sounded interesting and it somehow managed to get over 4 stars. Obviously she has a strong fan base.
I really don’t mean to be harsh, but I agree with others that the author has potential but should hire a proofreader. The books would be so much better with a little help.
I will be more careful to not buy another book by this author again.

That Christmas Eve A Brother Best Friend Baby Romance eBook Mia Ford Reviews
This one was not what I hoped for, at all. For one thing, it was very annoying to read. The entire story was written in complete, formal sentences - not one conjunction (wasn’t, isn’t, weren’t, could’ve, etc), not even in dialogue - and it just dragged on and on. Also, I don’t know what country it takes place in, the only mention of where they might be, is that a friend is overseas in England, but the whole plot is very archaic. The main female character has graduated from law school but is treated by her parents and older brother, like it’s 100 years ago. It’s as though she’s their idiotic property. The main male character, also the brother’s best friend, is barely tolerated by the parents. They consider him a bad influence and, though he is a ‘billionaire’ they feel he is beneath them. The brother is also ‘set up’ with his future wife so, wherever this is supposed to be taking place, I’m happy I don’t live there. It’s just very unbelievable and definitely not worth the $.99 I paid. I gave it 2 stars for author effort and the cute cover.
Ugh...This one is one me. I should have double checked if I had read this author before I grabbed the book. The synopsis sounded great. A little bit of holiday and brother's best friend. Things just got weird for me as the story went on.
I realize there are some family traditions/beliefs that can keep a person trapped. I didn't get the sense that this heroine was about to listen to her parents at all. She is an adult, after all and has been away at college for some time. The way they treated her was appalling. Then as events transpire, she is taken forcefully by her father to live on a farm with her aunt. Although she professed true love with Josiah, she didn't think she could, I don't know, pick up a phone and tell him to come and get her? There were no vehicles on the farm? He had the means to care for her and supposedly she didn't care about what her parents thought. So much of the story just doesn't make sense for someone living in modern day USA.
I did read through to the end, just to see this out. I am glad the brother came around and was supporting his sister. Why they bothered with the parents is beyond me.
Somehow I need to flag this author so I am not tempted again by a wonderful blurb. The writing is fair but the premise and actions by the characters is just so unbelievable. I can't read another like that. Shame on me for falling for it twice.
Paisley has had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Josiah Allen, from the first time she met him back in her younger years. She was raised in a very strict, orthodox household, and her parents were not very welcoming to Adam’s friend, afraid Josiah would lead Adam astray. But when she comes home from college, and her brother has invited Josiah to their Christmas dinner, she makes up her mind to finally act on her long-time crush. Unfortunately, she ends up pregnant from their encounter. Before she could even let Josiah know, her parents sent her away to a relative to avoid the embarrassment of an unwed daughter. Not having her cell phone with her, she had no way to contact Josiah so he could rescue her … or not.
Three years later, Paisley sees Josiah again at a family event -- her brother’s wedding. They both still care for each other, but she is not sure how to tell Josiah about their little boy. How will her family react when the truth comes out? Will Josiah walk away or will he try to care for his new family?
I enjoyed this book, but had a hard time imagining the treatment by her parents when they found their grown-up daughter was pregnant. Their reaction was a bit over-the-top, as if they were dealing with a high school teenager and not a young adult with a law degree who should be responsible for her own actions. However, I had confidence in Josiah, enough to believe that he would find out the truth, hopefully do the right thing, and everything would sort out. Did that happen? Grab a copy of the book and see whether it all works out!
Overall quality of writing is mediocre at best. The language doesn't sound right for a 28+ year old guy not for a 23 year old woman. Paisley is a law graduate and cones across as a high school kid that can swear. Josiah is a billionaire who's going to have sex with this best friend's sister in her parents home and her brother passed out in the living room . After 3 chapters I couldn't finish. This isn't the quality I'm used to from Ms. Ford.
